The path to Neo4j certification

A Neo4j certification is a credential you can put on your CV and LinkedIn that proves you can model, query, and build with a graph database. This path gathers the courses that map directly to the exam, in the order that builds each skill on the last, so that by the time you sit the Neo4j Certified Professional exam nothing on it is unfamiliar.

The certification tests practical knowledge, not trivia: reading and writing data with Cypher, designing a graph data model, importing data, managing indexes and constraints, and using the drivers from application code. Every one of those topics has a course below.

Who should follow this path?

Developers, data engineers, and analysts who already work with Neo4j — or want to — and want a recognised way to demonstrate it. You do not need to book the exam before you start; work through the courses at your own pace, and take the certification when the material feels second nature. The exam is taken online and you can retake it, so there is no risk in attempting it once you have finished the path.

What order to take these courses in

Start with the four fundamentals, which cover the bulk of the exam. Neo4j Fundamentals introduces graphs and the property graph model. Cypher Fundamentals teaches you to read and write data. Graph Data Modeling Fundamentals shows how to design a graph for the questions you need to answer, and Importing Data Fundamentals covers loading data into Neo4j.
