What is MCP
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open protocol that gives AI agents a standard way to use tools provided by other software.
- Without MCP, each agent needs custom code for each tool or data source
- With MCP, a tool is built once and any MCP-compatible agent can use the tool
- An MCP server can give an agent access to your data, such as a Neo4j knowledge graphA representation of real-world entities and their relationships, stored according to organizing principles, typically in a graph database.
