Bioinformatics and Sequencing Supervisor at Whitehead Institute

A bioinformatics and sequencing scientist with nearly two decades of experience in next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies and computational genomics. He is currently the Bioinformatics and Sequencing Supervisor at the Genome Technology Core at the Whitehead Institute, where he is a founding member and has played a key role in establishing sequencing workflows, data processing pipelines, and analytical infrastructure supporting both academic and industry research. His expertise spans single-cell and bulk RNA-seq, CRISPR screening, long- and short-read sequencing platforms, and advanced bioinformatics analysis using Python and R. Sumeet has coauthored over 15 peer-reviewed publications and is particularly interested in developing and applying computational and machine learning approaches to enable high-impact biological discovery and translational research.
