Module 5
Snapshots and Restoring
In this module, you will build your instance's safety net and learn exactly what it can and cannot do. You will take on-demand snapshots at the moments that matter, find and inspect them afterward, and replace one instance's data with another's using instance overwrite, the most consequential command in this course.
You will:
- Take an on-demand snapshot with
instance snapshot createand follow it fromPendingtoCompleted - List snapshots with the day-window default and
--date, and inspect one withgetand both of its IDs - Overwrite a target instance with data prepared from a different source instance using
--source-instance-id - Overwrite from a specific historical snapshot of that source instance by adding
--source-snapshot-id - Tell
overwriteapart from AuraNeo4j's fully managed cloud service.'s restore operation, including the same-instance form the CLI accepts but Aura rejects - Apply the pre-flight questions that make an overwrite safe: direction, source, and the target's own snapshot first
- Judge real overwrite scenarios in a module-wide quick check
