What is Graph Data Modeling?
Graph data modeling is the process of turning your domain, and the questions your application needs to ask about it, into nodesA vertex in a graph. In a property graph it can carry labels and properties. and relationshipsA named, directed connection between two nodes. Every relationship has a type, a start node and an end node.. It's rarely a one-pass exercise - a first model captures what you know today, and gets refined as new questions and new parts of the domain come up.
The model shapes everything that comes after: which queries stay simple, and which relationships are easy to add later versus costly to restructure.
